WASHINGTON- Algeria participated in "Around the World Embassy Tour", held recently in Washington, with a rich cultural program that reflects the diversity of the Algerian legacy.
Algeria's embassy in Washington offered its visitors an exhibition of paintings, handicrafts, jewelry, and traditional dress as well as many literary works related to the millennial history of Algeria and its many archaeological sites witnessing a rich cultural heritage and great cultural diversity.
A documentary film presenting the archaeological and tourist sites of Algeria and its natural and cultural wealth was screened in a loop, in addition to musical shows by a troupe reflecting the rich Algerian repertoire.
This first Algerian participation in this event attracted 2400 people, all of whom greatly appreciated the tourism potential and cultural wealth of Algeria and many of them inquired about travel requirements to Algeria.
The 2022 edition of "Around the World Embassy Tour" brought together about thirty participants from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, including the embassies of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, and South Africa.
Organized by the US non-profit foundation, "Cultural Tourism DC", in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, this event aims to provide access to embassies and chanceries of embassies accredited in Washington to offer the US population the opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of participating countries.
