NAFTAL: Fuel sales stabilized, turnover up in 2016

ALGIERS- The national company for petroleum products marketing and distribution (NAFTAL) recorded stabilization in fuel sales and an increase in turnover in 2016 compared to the previous year, according to the report presented Monday in Algiers by the company's Director of Planning, Strategy and Economy, Mohamed Benchoubane.
The turnover totalled DZD380 billion in 2016 against DZD333 billion in 2015, he said.
The volume of fuels and other petroleum products marketed by NAFTAL amounted to 17 million tonnes in 2016, including 13.9 million tonnes of conventional fuels (petrol and diesel oil) and 1.5 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), almost the same volume as in 2015, he explained.
NAFTAL, a subsidiary of the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH, employs over 31,000 workers, he added.
