ALGIERS- The Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (Safex) announced on Wednesday the cancellation of the International Fair of Algiers (FIA), scheduled between June 16 and 21, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Following the unprecedented health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, measures to control and prevent its spread have been decreed worldwide. These inevitable measures led, among other things, to the closing of borders, restrictions on movement, the suspension of flights and other types of transport, the prohibition of assemblies and consequently the cancellation and postponement of several national and global events," said Safex in a statement posted on its website.
"In this health context, Safex, very aware of the multidimensional situation, announces to its partners and exhibitors that the 53rd Algiers International Fair is postponed until 2021," added the same source.
Thus, the next edition of the FIA will take place from June 14 to 19, 2021, added the company in its press release.
