Ministries, U.S. businessmen hold meeting on economic cooperation opportunities

ALGIERS-A meeting by videoconference bringing together the representatives of several ministries and U.S. businessmen took place on Monday evening to present the economic opportunities available in Algeria, said the Trade Ministry in a communiqué.

Inaugurated by Trade Minister Kamel Rezig, the meeting took place in the presence of representatives of major U.S. companies, Algeria's Ambassador to Washington Madjid Bouguerra and Chairman of the United States-Algeria Business Council (USABC) Smaïl Chikhoun and representatives of the Ministries of Trade, Industry, Agriculture and Rural Development and Pharmaceutical Industry.

The meeting was an opportunity to present "Algeria's strengths and potential in various fields, particularly after it joined the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)."

On this occasion, "the Algerian side provided explanations on the resolutions on access to this "promising" African market, said the source.
