ALGIERS- National airline Air Algerie presented Sunday, in Algiers, its airworthiness release for its aircraft fleet ahead of the resumption of flights after the lifting of lockdown measures.
The plan, designed and developed by experts and technicians of the national airline, includes several safety and protection measures allowing the restart of the activity after the lifting of the lockdown measures, according to Said Boulaouad, head of the Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Division.
It was announced at a conference, held at the airline's Technical and Training Department, on the theme "protocols enacted in maintenance concerning the Covid-19 and post-lockdown period."
The plan established by the maintenance division, in collaboration with the commercial division, will include removal of the specific protection measures applied to aircraft in a shutdown state.
It also includes the launch of required works, according to the aircraft manual, as well as inspection and checks before commissioning, he same official.
Regarding protection measures against COVID-19, the airline's technicians said the cabin air is filtered against particles, bacteria and viruses with an efficiency of 99.99%, thanks to high-protection filters on aircraft manufactured by American manufacturer Boeing and European Airbus.
