ALGIERS-Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House), Brahim Boughali on Saturday received the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aguila Salah, to whom he reaffirmed Algeria's commitment to support the efforts made by Libya to resolve the crisis through a peaceful solution based on dialogue and national reconciliation, said a Lower House statement.
During their meeting at Lower House headquarters, Boughali and Aguila discussed bilateral parliamentary relations and prospects for their development, in addition to recent developments in the situation in Libya.
On this occasion, Boughali said "Algeria is committed to support Libya's efforts to resolve the crisis through a peaceful solution based on dialogue, national reconciliation and organization of elections that pave the way to stable and prosperous Libya.
For his part, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament highlighted the expectations of his country for the support of Algeria in this situation that Libya is going through, saying that "Algeria, given its influence and its centrality, is able to provide the necessary assistance to the Libyan people."
"Algeria's efforts can promote national reconciliation between Libyans through the good relations it has with all parties," he said, stressing "the need to elect a president so that Libya overcomes the crisis."
