ORAN (Algeria)- The ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, said Wednesday that Algeria would continue its role as a driving force for peace and stability in Africa, by providing its full support to the implementation of African solutions to the continent's problems.
In an opening address at the ninth High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, the minister said that "under the leadership of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and true to its constant an unwavering commitment for African causes, Algeria will spare no effort to defend and promote the principles of our Organisation during its tenure" as non-permanent member of the UN security Council.
"In response to the major upheavals, we have to defend the values" of "unity and solidarity to strengthen our collective self-reliance while looking for partners respectful of the sovereign rights of Africa in all fields of international life."
"We seek today to take new steps towards the achievement of the African vision of the founding fathers of our Organisation, a vision based on the agenda 2063, which aims to reach an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, managed by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force at the world stage."
