Algeria partakes in NEPAD Steering Committee meeting

ALGIERS-Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chakib Rachid Kaid on Tuesday partook by videoconference in the High Level Meeting of the NEPAD Steering Committee, said the Ministry in a communiqué.

In addition to the progress achieved in the implementation of Africa's Economic and Social Agenda, the meeting focused on the monitoring and response to the Covid-19 pandemic. It also discussed the ways to strengthen Africa's resilience to this pandemic, said the source.

Moreover, the meeting set the criteria related to the appointment of the new Executive Director of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), said the ministry.

Based on the principles of African partnership and leadership, NEPAD, at the instigation of Steering Committee, has enabled Africa to draft its own Development Agenda thanks to a better cooperation with various partners.
