Lamamra holds talks with AU Commissioner for Peace, Security

ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, met Sunday in Algiers with the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union, Bankole Adeoye, with whom he discussed the crisis in Libya and several other African issues.

In a statement to the press at the end of these discussions, Commissioner Adeoye praised the leadership of Lamamra, expressing his "deep gratitude" to the Minister for his pan-African initiative for the restoration of peace in Libya and to which the African Union is called to contribute.

According to the head of the AU PSC, the meeting with the head of Algerian diplomacy was an opportunity to discuss several African and regional issues, including North Africa.

The meeting between Lamamra and Adeoye comes on the eve of an important meeting of Libya's neighboring countries during which a road map for the holding of elections in that country will be discussed.
