Mauritanian President describes his visit to Algeria as "fruitful, constructive

ALGIERS- President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani described Tuesday his state visit to Algeria as "fruitful and constructive," saying it will help strengthen cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania and reinforce relations of fraternity and friendship between the two brotherly peoples.

"My visit to Algeria was "fruitful, through which we reiterated our common determination to redouble efforts to promote bilateral cooperation in the best interests of both peoples, the great Arab Maghreb, and the entire Islamic nation," said El-Ghazouani at a joint press conference with President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the end of their talks at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic.

He further stressed that the relations of cooperation between the two brotherly countries are "broad and rooted in history."

"We are working today to strengthen relations of fraternity and friendship between the two brotherly peoples," he added.

In this regard, the Mauritanian president said that his visit was "an opportunity to strengthen the relations of bilateral cooperation," which has resulted in "the signing of several agreements in important areas," and discuss "the main international and regional issues of common interest."

El-Ghazouani also thanked President Tebboune for "his generous invitation," expressing his "deep satisfaction" and that of the delegation accompanying him, for "the warm reception granted to them."
