APS - 27 December 2016

ALGIERS- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal signed Tuesday at the residence of the German ambassador in Algiers, on behalf of the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the condolence book following the terrorist attack that targeted the Christmas market in Berlin (Germany).

“It is with great affliction that we learned the tragedy that plunged the friendly German people into mourning, following the horrible attack that targeted the Christmas market and which killed many,” wrote Sellal in the book.

“We condemn this inhuman act and reaffirm the need to progress in transnational counter-terrorism, which now represents a real threat to peace and security in the world,” he added.

“In this painful circumstance, we present to the Federal Republic of Germany, its people and government, on behalf of the Algerian people and government, and on my own behalf, our deepest condolences and sympathy, praying that the families of the victims can overcome this ordeal.”
