ALGIERS- Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto will pay Tuesday an official visit to Algeria at the invitation of Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, said Monday Foreign Affairs Ministry in a communiqué.
The Hungarian minister will be accompanied by Deputy State Secretary Szilveszter Bus, who is in Algeria as part of the preparation for this visit.
Lamamra will assess with his Hungarian counterpart “the bilateral relations in the light of the new impetus given to them in the past few years,” said the communiqué.
“ This new impetus allowed the holding of the 1st session of the bilateral joint Commission in September 2015 in Budapest and the launch of negotiations on several draft agreements in different fields as well as the finalization of other legal instruments in the fields of vocational training, agriculture, culture, archives, ICTs and sport,” said the source.
“Hungary attaches a special importance to the strengthening of its relations with our country, in view of the role it plays in the settlement of conflicts by peaceful means and promotion of the values of peace and non foreign intervention in the domestic affairs of other countries,” said the source.
In this regard, the two ministers will broach “international issues of common interest.”
In addition to his talks with Lamamra, the Hungarian minister will be received by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
Meetings will also be held with minister of agriculture, rural development and fishing as well as minister of industry and mines, added the source.
