ALGIERS- The Arab Parliament "strongly" condemned, Wednesday in a statement, the latest statements of French President Emmanuel Macron against Algeria and its revolutionary past, calling them "irresponsible and unacceptable."
The Arab Parliament was furthermore surprised by "these statements which deny an execrable colonial history engraved in human memory".
In this regard, the AP condemned "the attack on the glorious history of Algeria, which is considered an honorable part of the history of the Arab world, especially in view of its resistance, sacrifice and struggle to win freedom."
At the same time, the AP reiterated "its support for Algeria against any attack on its identity, its historical legacy and its achievements engraved in the blood of millions of shouhadas (Martyrs)."
Finally, the Arab Parliament called for "the need to respect the international principles rooted in the world's conscience concerning respect for the sovereignty of States and non-interference in their internal affairs," reiterating its "support for Algeria's promising democratic process, under the leadership of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune."
