"Djillali Liabes" University of Sidi Bel Abbeès enters Shanghai Ranking 2021

ALGIERS-The University of Djillali Liabes in Sidi Bel Abbès has entered the Academic Ranking of World Universities, called Shanghai Ranking, announced the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in a communiqué.

Out of 105 universities, the Algerian university has ranked 101 in Civil Engineering subjects, said the ministry.

In Mechanical Engineering subjects the university has ranked 201 out of 300 universities, while in Materials Science and Engineering subjects the university came 301 out of 400, said the source.

This "reflects the good quality research of our scientists," added the ministry.

The ministry also welcomed the national education policy to encourage Algerian researchers to publish their research in scientific journals indexed in Global Reference Database.

The Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was first published in June 2003 by the Center for World-Class Universities (CWCU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
