Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers (CAN-2023) : Algeria defeats Uganda 2-0

ALGIERS- Algeria's football team outclassed their Ugandan counterparts (2-0) in a match played on Saturday evening at 5 July Stadium, in Algiers, as part of the first day of the qualifiers of the next Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for 2023 in Ivory Coast.

Central defender Aissa Mandi scored Algeria's first goal in the 28th minute while Youcef Belaïli scored in the 80th minute.

Earlier in the afternoon, Niger drew with Tanzania 1-1 (half-time: 1-1) in another match of the group "F" of CAN qualifiers, played at Friendship Stadium in Cotonou (Benin).

On the second day, scheduled for 8 June, Tanzania will host Algeria in Dar Es Salam at 5.00 p.m. while Niger will head for Kitende to play against Uganda at 2.00 p.m.
