Africa Open Swimming Championships: Algeria ranks third, "positive" results

ALGIERS- With a total of 11 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze), the Algerian swimming team ranked third in the Africa Open Swimming Championships that took place in Accra, in Ghana (11-17 October), results that are considered "positive" by the director of national teams (DEN) of the Algerian Swimming Federation (FAN), Lamine Ben Abderrahmane.

The Algerian team participated in Accra's event with fiver swimmers, including Oussama Sahnoune and Amel Melih, who took part in Tokyo Olympics as well as Ramzi Chouchar and Jaouad Syoud who play to French clubs and Abdellah Ardjoune (ASPTT Algiers), while Anis Djaballah who was injured, had withdrawn.

"With 11 medals, including two gold obtained by swimmer Jaouad Syoud, I consider these results positive for Algeria, enabling us to finish third in the overall ranking," Ben Abderrahmane told APS.
