Launch of Sputnik V vaccine production project as soon as possible

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune urged, during the Council of Ministers meeting the continuation of contacts with Russian partner for the launch of Sputnik-V vaccine production project in Algeria as soon as possible.

Based on a report submitted by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry on the vaccine local production, Tebboune ordered the continuation of contacts with the Russian partner to launch Sputnik V production project in Algeria, as soon as possible," said a communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic.

Besides, the president of the Republic has given instructions for the speeding up of "support procedures to pharmaceutical industry investment with a view to reducing the pharmaceutical imports by $400 million by late 2021, and orient production to export," said the source.
