ALGIERS- A total of 129 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 104 recoveries and four deaths have been reported over the last 24 hours in Algeria, the spokesman of the scientific committee for monitoring the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Djamel Fourar, said Monday in Algiers.
The number of confirmed cases in Algeria amounts to 118.645, including 129 new cases in the past 24 hours, the number of deaths to 3.134 and that of recovered patients to 82.704, Fourar said in his daily press briefing on the progress of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He added that 14 patients are under intensive care, Dr Djamel Fourar added.
According to him, 24 provinces have had no positive cases in the last twenty-four hours, 22 others have reported between one and nine cases while three provinces have recorded more than 10 cases.
The health official stressed that the current epidemiological situation requires vigilance and observation of the rules of hygiene and physical distancing.
He recalled "the obligation of compliance with the lockdown and wearing of masks."
