Coronavirus: 153 new cases, 118 recoveries, 8 deaths

ALGIERS- A total of 153 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 118 recoveries and eight deaths have been reported over the last 24 hours in Algeria, the ministry of Health said Wednesday in a statement.

The number of confirmed cases in Algeria amounts to 203,198, including the 153 new cases in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths to 5,805 and that of recovered patients to 139,195, the statement said.

In addition, 15 patients are under intensive care, according to the statement.

The statement added that 21 provinces have had no positive cases in the last twenty-four hours, 21 others have reported between one and nine cases while four provinces have recorded at least 10 cases.

The ministry stressed that the current epidemiological situation requires vigilance and observation of the rules of hygiene and physical distancing.

It recalled the obligation of compliance with the lockdown measures and wearing of masks.
