ALGIERS - The Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry plans to export €50 million of drugs and pharmaceutical products in 2022, said the sector's minister, Abderrahmane Djamel Lotfi Benbahmed.
"We had already planned import programs. We have had promises for 50 million euros of exports by 2022. I hope we will exceed," said Banbahmed Wednesday evening on national television.
He stressed, however, that the export of drugs is a "rather core complex business," including the setting up of a regulatory system to support Algerian operators.
The exports include, among other things, intersectoral issues related to the Ministries of Trade and Finance, he said in this regard.
"This system will allow both the industrial transfer of pharmaceutical products and to project the export for local operators as well as multinationals," added Benbahmed.
The rate of local production has reached 62% in 2021, the Minister said that this rate "will reach or even exceed 70% in 2022."
