After the dissolution of the Star, the Algerian People‘s Party (PPA) was formed in 1937 and the (MTLD) in 1946.
The Algerian People‘s Party (or PPA) was founded on March 11, 1937 by Messali Hadj in France after the ban of the North African Star. This new party has maintained the direction, structures and objectives of the North African Star until its dissolution on the eve of the Second World War in September 1939 and its Leader Messali El Hadj was put in prison.
In order to continue its activism, the Algerian People‘s Party had integrated the Movement called „Friends of Manifesto and Freedom“ founded by Ferhat Abbas to become the dominant Organization within it.
