Algeria strongly condemns terrorist attacks in Niger

APS - 25 October 2022

ALGIERS- Algeria strongly condemned Saturday the terrorist attack perpetrated in Banibango, in Niger's western border area with Mali, the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad said in a statement.

"Algeria strongly condemns the terrorist attacks committed on 22 October 2022, in Banibango, in the west of Niger near the border with Mali, and which targeted innocent civilians," the statement said.

"In these painful moments, Algeria expresses its compassion and extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved families while reiterating unfaltering solidarity with the government and the brother people of Niger, a neighbour and friend country with which it has a quality relationship."

"Those attacks, which clearly show the intention of terrorist groups to spread chaos in Niger and the whole region of the Sahel, would not undermine the resolve of the region's countries and that of Algeria as well as their common determination to eradicate this scourge and engage in the process of peace building and prosperity," the ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
