ALGIERS- 17 short films out of 31 films from 15 countries will compete in the "Digital Gate International Film Festival," the organizers told the APS.
The organizers highlight a strong participation of directors from Arab countries such as Algeria with 6 films, Egypt and Tunisia who submitted 5 films each in addition to the participation, for the first time, of directors from Slovenia and the Philippines.
The organizers also received films from Indian, Afghan, French, American and Syrian filmmakers.
The selection of this edition includes the Algerian films "Ghosts" by Zahreddine Djedri, "I will leave and i will never come back" by Erayeh Ben Driss and "Mania" by Houssem Abbassi in addition to other works such as "Le verrou" by the Tunisian Seif Chouk, "Coulourless" by the Afghan Abdul Hamid Mandgar, "Too Late" by the Egyptian Hicham Anis, or "5 Stars Rating" by the American Al Mitchell.
The "Digital Gate International Film Festival" is the first monthly virtual festival dedicated to short films in Algeria created in April 2020 by Algerian filmmaker Dalil Belkhoudir in partnership with many foreign festivals.
