ALGIERS- Algerian actor Boudjemaa Djilali won Sunday the Best Actor Golden Olive Tree Award at 5th International Film Festival of Al Quds (Palestine), for his role in "Until the End of Time," by filmmaker Yasmine Chouikh, organizers said.

Boudjemaa Djilali was awarded the Best Actor Golden Olive Tree Award, ex-aequo with Syrian actor Ayman Zidane for his role in the "Unfinished Journey," directed by his compatriot Joud Said.

Released in late 2017, "Until the End of Time", Yasmine Chouikh's first feature film, had already received several international awards at the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival, the International Film Festival of Muscat (Sultanate of Oman) and the Pan-African Film and Television Festival in Ouagadougou (FESPACO).

Actor Boudjemaa Djilali had also been awarded for his role in this film at the 12th International Women's Film Festival in Sale, northern Morocco.

Created by the Palestinian ministry of Culture, in partnership with Palestinian and Arab cultural associations, Al Quds International Film Festival was held this year in a virtual version due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2019 this festival was held simultaneously in twelve Arab countries, including Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia and Egypt.
