Algeria-U.S.A: Joint commitment to promote peace, security in region

TRIPOLI-Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra received, Thursday in Tripoli (Libya), US Under-Secretary of State in charge of Middle East issues, Yael Lampert, with whom he discussed views on the latest developments in Libya, Mali and Western Sahara, reiterating their joint commitment to promote peace and security in the region.

"On the sidelines of the Libya Conference, I received US Under Secretary of State for the Middle East, Yael Lampert, with whom I discussed views on the latest developments in Libya, Mali and Western Sahara, and reiterated our joint commitment to promoting peace and security in the region," Lamamra wrote on his Twitter account.

Shortly before the start of the conference, Lamamra held "rich" talks with head of the national unity government, Abdelhamid Dbeibah, vice-president of the Libyan Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Kouni, and his counterpart, Najla Al-Mangoush, to whom he reiterated Algeria's support for Libya's stability.

In addition to his meetings with the Libyan supreme authorities, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad will hold meetings with his counterparts among them representatives of the states and organizations taking part in the Conference.

The head of Algerian diplomacy takes part in the Ministerial Conference in support of Libyan stability, at the invitation of Najla Al-Mangoush.

Lamamra's participation in this Conference confirms Algeria's constant position and its permanent support to the brotherly Libyan people and national reconciliation.
