"Any change" in relations between Algeria, Morocco

ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, stressed Wednesday that there is "any change in relations between Algeria and Morocco."

In response to a question on the credibility of information on the reopening of a border post between the two countries with a view to the extradition by Morocco to Algeria of 12 wanted persons, including 11 Algerians, prosecuted in cases of drug trafficking, Lamamra said that there is "no change" in relations between Algiers and Rabat.

"Honestly, I do not have exact information on this subject and I doubt that there is a political aspect," he told the press at the closing ceremony of the Conference of Heads of Algerian Diplomatic and Consular Missions at the Palais des Nations in Algiers.

"If this information proves to be correct at the human and technical levels, it has nothing to do with Algerian-Moroccan relations," he stressed.
