Arab Parliament: Legislative elections, "significant" step in Algeria's democratic process

ALGIERS- President of the Arab Parliament, Adel Ben Abderrahman Al-Assoumi, stressed that the 12 June legislative elections constitute a "significant" step in the democratic process and the strengthening of political participation in Algeria.

In a communiqué of the Arab Parliament issued Sunday, Al-Assoumi said that "the completion of these elections constitutes a significant step in the democratic process and the strengthening of political participation in Algeria, and also a necessary action to move forward."

He welcomed, on this occasion, the holding of this ballot and commended the managers, the government, and the Algerian people.

The President of the Arab Parliament further welcomed the strength of the Algerian people in addressing the challenges under the supervision of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, saying he is confident about "the new Algerian MPs who will be," according to him, "able to assume the responsibility entrusted to them by the Algerian people."
