Humanitarian aid shipped to Sahrawi refugee camps

ALGIERS- Humanitarian aid made up of 132 tonnes of foodstuffs were shipped Monday from the military base of Boufarik to the Sahrawi refugee camps of Tindouf, aboard four military aircraft, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.

"As part of solidarity actions between Algeria and Western Sahara people, humanitarian aid consisting of 132 tonnes of food were shipped on Monday, 11 April 2022, on four military aircraft of the Algerian Air Forces, from the military base of Boufarik, in the first military region, to the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf.

The aid was supplied by the Algerian Red Crescent for the Western Sahara people," the statement said.

The operation "confirms the permanent commitment of the People's National Army to providing support to such humanitarian initiatives."
