ALGIERS- The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, met Saturday, on the sidelines of the 35th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with his Senegalese counterpart, Aissata Tall Sall, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the AU, the ministry said in a statement.
The discussions focused on "the main political issues on the summit's agenda," the statement said.
The two ministers seized the opportunity to "explore the prospects of promoting consensus among the member states, in a spirit of unity and solidarity, and the principles enshrined in the African Union's Constitutive Act."
The two officials also tackled "the next meetings in relation to the development of Algerian-Senegalese ties," the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad said in the statement.
