Lamamra starts working visit to Mauritania

ALGIERS- The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, started Tuesday a two-day working visit to Nouakchott, Mauritania, as special envoy of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ministry said in a statement.

During the two-day visit, Lamamra will hold discussions with senior Mauritanian officials, including President Mohamed Ould El-Ghazaouani, the statement said.

The visit is meant to fulfill the desire expressed by the leaders of both countries and their sound guidelines about the need to maintain the tradition of consultation and coordination and to strengthen strategic relations between the two countries, as well as speeding up the pace of bilateral cooperation in various areas, the statement added.

It will also provide an opportunity to discuss regional and international issues of common interest, especially the latest developments at the Maghreb, Arab and African levels.
