Lamamra takes part in 8th ministerial session of Forum on China-Africa Forum

ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra is taking part, at the invitation of his Chinese and Senegalese counterparts, in the 8th ministerial session of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Dakar (Senegal), scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, said a ministerial statement.

The ministers participating in this meeting, under the theme "Deepening China-Africa partnership and promoting China-Africa sustainable development in the new era," will monitor the implementation of the conclusions of the 3rd session of this forum, held in September 2018 in Beijing.

They will also assess China-Africa cooperation in terms of the fight against the pandemic, in order to decrease its economic and financial effects while working for the resumption of development in Africa, said the source.

The African ministers and their Chinese counterparts will adopt an Africa-China cooperation and action programme for 2022-2024, in addition to a document on the major guidelines of China-Africa cooperation by 2035 which constitutes a roadmap of short and long-term bilateral cooperation.

On the sidelines of this ministerial meeting, Lamamra will hold bilateral meetings with a number of his African counterparts, in addition to consultations with top authorities of Senegal Republic which will hold, as of February 2022, the presidency of the African Union (AU), concluded the source.
