ALGIERS- Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangouche on Monday praised the "positive" and "effective" role of Algeria's in the settlement of the Libyan crisis and its support of the efforts to restore stability, expressing her desire to establish a strategic partnership with the neighbouring countries.
Speaking at the meeting of Libya's neighbours, held at the International Conference Centre in Algiers, Ms. Mangouche said her country aspired to the development of a strategic partnership with the neighbouring countries, underpinned by complementarity and positive exchange to achieve peace and security with the neighbours.
To achieve stability in Libya and its immediate vicinity, the Libyan minister listed the basic elements for building a new era of cooperation among the peoples of the region, the unification of views of the neighbouring countries on political positions.
The Libyan official also stressed the need to ensure national security and achieve security coordination between neighbouring countries in order to control borders, and to develop a homogeneous food security programme, through economic tools, while working to secure water resources.
The minister also tackled the necessity to address illegal migration, adopt developed education programs, exchange experiences and support the Libyan government's initiative for stability in Libya.
