Mauritanian Foreign minister welcomes Algeria's permanent support to his country

ALGIERS- Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed welcomed Sunday Algerian's "permanent" support to Mauritania, affirming that the bilateral relations continue to be excellent.

In a statement to the press following the audience granted to him by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Mauritanian minister affirmed that he transmitted "to President Tebboune, Algerian people and Government a message of esteem, consideration and respect for the permanent and consistent support to Mauritania," adding that the relations between Algeria and Mauritania "continue to be excellent."

While broaching the "significant" exchanges characterizing these relations at the cultural and commercial levels, the minister welcomed the passage area between the two countries and the memorandum of understanding on the creation of the Algerian-Mauritanian bilateral coredr Committee, signed recently between the two States' ministers of Interior.

Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed also welcomed Algeria's support to his country, following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, through the medical mission sent to Mauritanian and also in the fields of vocational training, higher education and security.

He also said that President Tebboune asked him to convey a message to his Mauritanian counterpart, in which he underlined his willingness to work for the strengthening of these relations, adding that President Tebboune gave directives to the Algerian and Mauritian ministers of Foreign Affiars to pay mutual visits in order to develop these relations.
