ALGIERS- The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) called Sunday in Algiers for a new "future vision" in favor of higher education and scientific research in the Arab world.
In a document distributed to the press on the occasion of the 18th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, ALECSO explained that "the establishment of new roles for higher education to achieve sustainable development and meet the current challenges, requires a new proactive vision for the higher education and scientific research systems in the Arab world.
In this regard, the same organization has stressed "the development of future sheets likely to promote the system of higher education and scientific research to keep pace with developments through the definition of its needs in terms of modes, results, and methods of its financing."
"Most of the Arab countries have achieved the 4th goal of the 2030 education agenda (...), according to the ALECSO which has reported significant development in terms of levels of higher education.
The ALECSO has also called for making higher education in the Arab world an engine for achieving sustainable development.
