African Judo Championships: Algerian Amina Belkadi (-63 kg) wins title

ANTANANARIVO- Algerian Amina Belkadi is the African judo champion in the category (-63 kg), defeating in the final Moroccan Sofia Bellatar, Friday in Antananarivo (Madagascar).

The bronze medals in the category went to Nigerian Enku Ekuta and Cameroonian Hélène Dombeu.

Her compatriot Fethi Nourine (-73 kg), secured the bronze medal on this second day of the African Championships. The title was won by Egyptian Mohamed Mohyeldin defeating Moroccan Ahmed El Meziati.

The four other Algerian athletes will compete on Saturday as part of the third day of the tournament.

They are Kaouther Ouallal (-78kg), Sonia Asselah (+78 kg), Abderrahmane Benamadi (-90 kg) and Mohamed Sofiane Belrekaa (+100 kg).

In total, only 125 athletes (75 men and 50 women) representing 32 countries, are taking part in the Antananarivo games, qualifying for the Games Olympic Games in Tokyo.
