FIFA World Cup (playoffs): Belmadi retains 24 players for Cameroon

ALGIERS- National football team's coach Djamel Belmadi has unveiled the list of the 24 players for the double confrontation against Cameroon, on 25 and 29 March, as part of the first leg of the playoffs of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Algerian Federation of Football (FAF) said on Saturday on its official site.

The Defender of ES Sahel Youcef Laouafi and the striker of Al Wakrah (Qatar Super League) Mohamed Benyettou have been called to join Belmadi's team.

Adlene Guedioura (Burton Albion), Hicham Boudaoui (OGC Nice), Rachid Ghezzal (Besiktas) and Ishak Belfodil (Herta Berlin) are coming back after their absence in the CAN 2021.

On the other hand, Baghdad Bounedjah (Al Sadd), Said Benrahma ( West Ham), Adam Ounas (Naples),Farid Boulaya (FC Metz/France), midfielders Adam Zorgane (SC Charleroi) Haris Belkebla (Stade Brestois), Yacine Brahimi (Al Rayyane) and Mohamed Amine Amoura (FC Lugano), as well as defenders Amine Tougai (ES Tunis), Lies Chetti (ES Tunis), Mohamed Reda Halaimia (KFCO Beerschot/ Belgium), who were present at CAN 2021 in Cameroon, aren't included in Belmadi's new list.

The first leg match will be played next Friday at Japoma Stadium in Douala while the return match is scheduled for Tuesday 29 March at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida.
