FIFA World Cup qualifier: Algeria outclass Niger 6-1

BLIDA (Algeria)- National football team dominated Niger's 6-1 (half time: 1-0), in a match at Mustapha-Tchaker stadium of Blida (50-km south of Algiers) on Friday, the third day (Group A) of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The "Greens" opened the scoring in the 27th minute by Captain Riyadh.

Mahrez. In the second half, Nigerien midfielder Yousouf Oumarou scored an own goal (47'), before Daniel Sosah reduced the score for Niger (50').

In the 59th minute Riad Mahrez made the game safe by scoring a penalty.

Souleymane Zakaria (69') scored an own goal, before Islam Slimani scored a double (76th, 88th), to become Algerian national team's top scorer with 37 goals.

In the other match of group A, Burkina Faso won against Djibouti (4-0) in Marrakech, Morocco.

Algeria and Burkina Faso remain in the lead of group A with seven points each, ahead of Niger (3 pts), while Djibouti comes in last place (0 point).
