Friendly: Algeria extend undefeated streak following Mexico tie (2-2)

THE HAGUE (The Netherlands) - Algeria's football team managed to maintain their unbeaten streak, snatching a draw against Mexico (2- 2/half-time: 1-1), in a friendly match played Tuesday in the Hague's Cars-Jeans Stadion in the Netherlands.

After the draw, the African champions are now 20 games unbeaten.
After a balanced start into the match, the Mexicans were the first to score through Jesus Corona (43'), before Ismail Bennacer's equalizer two minutes later with a masterful strike near the penalty area.

At the second half of the game, Adlene Guedioura (56') was sent out of the pitch, but the Desert Foxes' captain Ryad Mahrez (67') managed to score, before Diego Lainez equalized for Mexico (87').

Last Friday, the "Desert Foxes defeated Nigeria (1-0) in the first test match played in Austria.
These two friendly games were a springboard for Ryad Mahrez's teammates, in anticipation of the next CAN-2021 qualifiers against Zimbabwe, in November.
The CAN 2021 in Cameroon has been postponed to 2022 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
