TUNIS- Algerian judokas won on Saturday eight medals (2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) on the first day of the Tunis African Open, held at the sports hall of Rades Complex.
The gold medals were harvested by Yamina Hallalta (-57kg) and Rachid Cherrad (-66kg), while the silver medals were grabbed by Nesrine Boudjemil (- 57kg) and Waïl Ezzine (-66kg).
The finals of -57 kg and -66 kg were 100% Algerians, which explains the fact that these four medals were harvested in the same weight categories.
The two other silver medals were harvested by Belkadi Amina (-63kg) and Younes Belaribi (-60kg), after their defeat in the finals against Tunisians Meriem Bejaoui and Tunisien Dehibi, respectively.
The bronze medals were won by Faïza Aïssahine (-52kg) andt Driss Messaoud (-73kg).
